All You Need to Know About the iPhone 11 Pro in Singapore

Apple launched a new trio of iPhones in early September 2019 - the iPhone 11, iPhone 11 Pro and iPhone 11 Pro Max. Apple placed an emphasis on the cameras in its new iPhone 11 Pro and 11 Pro Max smartphones, adding an extra ultra-wide-angle lens while also improving the image processing technology, as well as adding features like night mode for better low-light photography.

Vivid and Vibrant Display

Featuring a 5.85-inch Super Retina XDR display screen, the iPhone 11 Pro has a high screen resolution of 2436 x 1125 pixels. It emits optimum brightness that makes reading from the screen easy even in the bright sunlight. In fact, the 11 Pro can reach up to 800 nits of brightness outdoors, and up to 1200 nits of brightness when watching HDR10 and Dolby Vision videos or viewing HDR photos. Given its immersive display, the 11 Pro is sure to give you a seamless entertainment experience.

Colour Options

The iPhone 11 Pro is available in 4 colours, midnight green, space grey, silver and gold. All of them have a textured matte glass back and a glossy stainless steel band that runs all the way around the edge.

Triple the Cameras, Triple the Fun

The key feature of the 11 Pro range is the new rear-facing triple camera setup, which combines the following 12-megapixel cameras:

  • 12-megapixel f/1.8 wide-angle sensor
  • 12-megapixel f/2.4 ultra-wide sensor with a 120-degree field of view
  • 12-megapixel f/2.0 telephoto sensor

The most eye-catching new camera feature is called Deep Fusion. It’s a new image processing system that learns to optimize texture, details, and noise in every part of the photo. With one touch of the shutter button, the 11 Pro will shoot multiple images, then pick out the best bits and combine them to form the best possible snap. There’s Night Mode as well, which will turn on automatically when you fire up the camera in a low-light setting.

Improved Battery Life

Packed with a 3,046mAh battery, the iPhone 11 Pro has about 10.5 hours of battery life on a full charge. Apple also includes an 18-watt USB-C fast charger with the Pro phones, so you can get up to 50% charge around 30 minutes.

iPhone 11 Pro is powered by the new Apple A13 Bionic and runs on the iOS 13 (upgradable to iOS 14). Like the A12 Bionic before it, the A13 Bionic features a total of 18 cores-a six-core CPU, four-core CPU, and an eight-core Neural Engine processor, which is dedicated to handling on-board machine learning processes.

It essentially unlocks the door for powerful new capabilities like 4K video at 60fps and slow-motion selfies (slofies) and should ensure excellent performance no matter what tasks or games you throw at the phone.

iPhone 11 Pro 5G and Face ID

None of Apple’s new iPhones offers 5G connectivity, but that was expected. And there is no headphone jack to be seen on the model. However, there is a faster and more capable Face ID system - up to 30% faster which allows you to unlock your phone from longer distances and wider angles. In the SIM card tray, you can store a nano-SIM and eSIM as well.

Is iPhone 11 Pro waterproof?

Like its predecessors, the iPhone 11 Pro is water-resistant (IP68 rated), hence can withstand being submerged in water of up to 4 meters for 30 minutes, as compared to the iPhone 11 that has 2-meter water resistance. This doesn’t include seawater or chlorine-filled swimming pools, as the chemical substances can cause damage to electronics. That said, the iPhone’s water resistance will decrease with age, hence a waterproof case is still recommended to protect your phone’s internal components from moisture in the long run.

How much is an iPhone 11 Pro Max?

Apple iPhone 11 Pro Max Pricing

In contrast to the iPhone XS, Apple claims that the 11 Pro provides up to 4 more hours of battery life. A good thing about the 11 Pro is that it comes with a fast-charge adapter, and the 11 requires a separate purchase of it.

Looking at the display, the iPhone 11 sports a liquid retina HD 6.1-inch LCD display, whereas the 11 Pro is available in either 5.8-inch or 6.5-inch super retina XDR OLED display. Aside from the durable glass in the iPhone 11 and 11 Pro’s bodies, aerospace-grade aluminium and stainless steel are integrated into both phones respectively.

What is the difference between 11 Pro and 11 Pro Max?

Coming in either 5.8- or 6.5-inch, Apple iPhone 11 Pro is just about picking screen size, with the larger Max model also having more pixels, for anyone who needs the phone as a good monitor for photos and videos. The 11 Pro Max also has roughly an extra hour of battery.
