Audio-Technica ATH-M50X Singapore

Top-Choice Headphones

The Audio-Technica ATH-M50X has been sitting at the top of many best headphones list for a very long time. It is actually an improved version of the older ATH-M50 headphones. The upgrades from the ATH-M50 to the ATH-M50X is most prominently in the cabling.

The older ATH-M50 had a fixed cable that was permanently attached to the headphone, whereas the current ATH-M50X is much better with a removable cable. Audio-Technica also included not one but three different cables with the ATH-M50X of varying lengths: 1.2m straight cable, 3m straight cable, and a coiled 1.2m cable that’s the most popular of them all. The only downside to this cabling is the proprietary locking design mechanism that pretty much prohibits the use of other audio cables aside from the ones by Audio-Technica.

Optimal Comfort

Listening to music on a great pair of headphones is a great experience, but such an experience can be marred by a very uncomfortable pair of headphones. Fortunately, the ATH-M50X comes with one of the softest top bands on a solid pair of headphones that rests gently against the top of your head. For your ears, the ATH-M50 come with very soft and cushy pads that are also incredibly soft and gentle. The overall feeling of using the ATH-M50X while listening is a great one, and putting great sound and comfort together results in the optimal listening experience.

The ATH-M50X is also a very portable pair of headphones. It is not exactly small – in fact its considered to be rather large; what it can do however, is it can fold up within itself to present a more compact and easily stored headphone. The headphone ear-cups can swivel and fold to make storage and transportation much easier.

The ATH-M50X has been the top pick of headphones for many users for a very long time, and it is not hard to listen why. The M50X retains all of the great benefits and features of the previous ATH-M50 headphones, carrying over the great balanced sound signature with punchy bass, rich and detailed mids and highs. The M50X may often be sold as a pair of monitoring headphones, but the sound signature makes it incredibly easy and fun to listen to.
