Google Pixel 3 Release Date, Leaks, and Specs in Singapore

What We Want to See from Google’s Next Flagship Phone

Although Google has yet to confirm the release of their brand new flagship, there have been tons of rumours about the Google Pixel 3 which got everyone excited. Here’s what to expect from Google’s alleged upcoming flagship – the Pixel 3.

Google Pixel 3 Release Date

The first two Pixel phones – the Google Pixel and Pixel 2 had October release dates, the former was launched in 2016, the latter in 2017. Based on this launch schedule of the previous Pixel phones, it’s safe to say that the Pixel 3 will likely arrive in October this year. Many fans of the brand are crossing their fingers that its release will follow the schedule.

The Google Pixel 3 Will Be Released with 3 Models

For the past two years, Google released two editions of the Pixel – one is the core version called the Pixel, and the other is the upsized Pixel XL just like you would with the Galaxy series. Now, rumors suggest that Google will have three versions for the Pixel 3 – two of these will be premium models and the third will be an upgraded version of one of their current devices. It does seem like Google is following the footsteps of Apple in 2016. Instead of releasing two flagship phones, Apple released the premium iPhone 7 series (iPhone 7 and 7 Plus) together with the iPhone SE which is a miniaturized iPhone 6s.

Powered by Android P

Google’s last two Pixel mobile phones debut with the latest versions of the Android operating system – the Android O. Although there’s only a small number of devices that run this latest operating system at the moment, it’s possible that it will integrate a brand-new operating system into the Pixel 3. Since Google is in charge with their own software, this phone will release one of the first phones to feature the next Android OS. According to some reports from the rumor mill, the Android P will focus more on its Google Assistant feature along with improved optimization.

Snapdragon 845 Processor

Most Android manufacturers these days prefer to equip their devices with Qualcomm processors. In order to go head to head with flagship phones from top brands like Apple and Samsung, Google is said to integrate the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 chip into the Pixel 3. The device will also come with a 6 GB of RAM to back up this impressive processor, giving the Pixel 3 a lot of horsepower to keep up with the competition.

Featuring an 18:9 Display

The 18:9 aspect ratio has become an increasingly popular trend among flagship devices including Pixel phones. The Pixel 2 XL, for instance, has an 18:9 aspect ratio which the Pixel 3 is expected to follow suit. Aside from that, the Pixel 3 and the Pixel 3 XL could probably get an OLED panel, with the display having an “always-on” feature to present notifications even the device is in standby.

Single-Lens Camera Setup

Much like its latest phones, Google may retain the single-lens camera setup on the Pixel 3. However, there’s also a good chance that it could come with a dual camera setup. Another feature we can expect from Pixel 3’s camera is the optical image stabilization which enhances image and video quality.
