News about HTC U11

HTC Singapore has kept one feature of the U11 a secret until now – its camera features. It is hard for companies to contain unwanted leaks being exposed to the public but HTC has managed to do it. Although there were several leaks prior to the phone's launch such as a squeezy interface, high-gloss glass back, a USB-C port rather than a headphone jack, the device’s camera features have only been unveiled yesterday.

HTC U11 Singapore – An Impressive Feature-Filled Smartphone

Despite not being the most well-known brand in the industry, HTC has proven time and time again that it can manufacture top-quality smartphones that give the big boys a run for their money. This time around, HTC has once again managed to prove its worth with the U11 smartphone. The U11 has an impressive list of specs and features that make it comparable to many models from more renowned brands. Below is a rundown of the U11’s main highlights.

Design and Build Quality

Smartphones today quite similar to one another, even if they are products of different brands. HTC has managed to redefine its design strategy for the U11, a hard feat to achieve nowadays. In terms of aesthetics, the Liquid Surface design manages to give the phone two colours at once depending on how you hold them, giving it an appeal that is rarely seen on other smartphones. The phone also has a well-built chassis that gives it a solid feel in the hand. Moreover, the polished Gorilla Glass and the IP67 water-resistance rating adds to the overall durability of the device.

Edge Sense

The main highlight of the U11 is Edge Sense which enables users to squeeze the phone to execute certain functions. By default, a quick squeeze on the bottom half of the phone will automatically activate the camera in basic mode. Once the camera is activated, Edge Sense allows you to long-hold the sides to revert the camera into selfie mode instead.

Apart from taking photos, you can personalize the way you want to use Edge Sense for including launching an app, start voice recording or using the flashlight. Not only does it reduce the interaction with the phone’s display, thus preventing you from leaving unsightly fingerprints on the screen, it also allows for more comfortable handling of the device.

Display

The U11 sports a large 5.5-inch QHD display with 1,440 x 2,560p resolution that translates to a vibrant and immersive image quality which mobile gamers will appreciate. The screen comes with an auto-brightness features that adapts well according to the light intensity in the surrounding. The screen also provides enough brightness for the phone to remain legible when used outdoors under direct sunlight.

Cameras

Despite only sporting a 12MP single lens rear camera, the phone is still able to capture detailed and clear photos. Moreover, the camera is supported by the Pro Camera technology that lets you have full control over settings like white balance and exposure. Meanwhile, its 16MP front sensor can capture bright and vibrant selfies regardless of the lighting. This makes the U11 one of the best selfie smartphones in the market today.

Performance

Thanks to the Snapdragon 835 processor that is supported by 4GB of RAM, the U11 is able to deliver silky smooth performance. Apps launch fast and games can be played without any drops in frame rates.
