Huawei P20 Lite Release Date and Leaks in Singapore

Huawei has put out a great selection of flagship phones throughout the years. Among them is the Huawei P20 and P20 Pro are definitely among the latest flagship mobile phones you should ever consider buying. However, if that price is slightly out of your range, you might want to check out the Huawei P20 Lite that offers some of the features of the former. Much like its bigger siblings, this Huawei phone has a notch at the top, a screen-to-body ratio of 80%, and facial recognition feature – all for a budget-friendly price, making it a solid mid-range phone. Here’s a rundown of Huawei P20 Lite specs and release date in Singapore

Huawei P20 Lite Release in Singapore

The Huawei P20 Lite was launched in Singapore on April 28, 2018. Currently, it’s listed on Huawei’s website and online shops nationwide, with a price of around SG$440. It’s powerful and affordable, what more could you ask for in a phone?

The Huawei P20 Lite Design

Much like the other P20 mobile phones, the Huawei P20 Lite looks like a premium phone, especially with the notch at the top. It has a dimension of 71.2 x 7.4 x 148.6mm, which means it is a moderate-sized but still compact enough to slip in the pocket and to handle. On the back, you’ll find an all-glass exterior with the fingerprint sensor and primary camera slightly sticking out. There is a headphone jack at the bottom so you can pull it out from your pocket the right way up easily.

Just Enough Speed for the Price

The Huawei P20 Lite houses a mid-range Kirin 659 chip under its hood which is similar to the Huawei Nova 2 and Honor 9 Lite. In terms of performance, this phone is on par with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 that is used in many mid-range mobile phones. This Huawei phone is also equipped with 64GB of onboard storage and 4GB of RAM, making it a decent device for its price point. You can even upgrade its internal storage up to 256 GB using a micro SD card. So, for the low price point, its internal specs are quite decent.

Feature-packed phone

The best thing about the Huawei P20 Lite is the camera and its facial recognition feature. If you like shooting portrait images with a bokeh effect, the Huawei P20 Lite’s dual cameras get the job done. The device boasts two sensors – one is 16 MP and the other is 2 MP, with apertures of f/2.2 and f/2.4, respectively. Expect to produce great shots in good lighting conditions and decent images in dim settings. Meanwhile, the P20 Lite’s front panel has a 16-MP sensor that offers impressive image quality for selfies. This front shooter also serves as a facial recognition feature, which is something you will only find on high-end flagship mobile phones.

EMUI 8.0

While Huawei phones are considered Android devices, they have their own customized interface which is called EMUI. The Huawei P20 Lite runs on Android 8.0 but has an EMUI 8.0 interface. Unlike stock Android, EMUI offers a lot of setting which you can adjust to your liking.
