Huawei P40 Pro Price in Singapore, Specs, and FAQs

Is Huawei P40 Pro worth buying?

As the successor of the Huawei P30 Pro, Huawei P40 Pro is seen with impressive refinements on features like the quad-camera system, updated internals, and of course the brand’s in-house App Gallery in place of Google Play services. Starting from the design, the handset sports ultra-thin bezels and curved edges made of glass. This makes all sorts of navigations much easier as swipe gestures have become the primary function many users are getting accustomed to. That means that one-hand mode wouldn’t be a struggle with this device. Coming in a massive size of 6.58 inches, this Android phone is powered by the HiSilicon Kirin 990 5G octa-core chipset paired with 8GB RAM.

Another huge refinement seen in the P40 Pro is the high-refresh-rate display which is 90Hz. The colour remains consistent even after tilting the device at different angles, while the brightness is splendid when the device is viewed in direct sunlight. Nevertheless, it would have been better if this 2020 smartphone had a 120Hz refresh rate–one of the supporting factors for the phone to beat the competition right off the bat.

As for its phenomenal rear camera, the Huawei P40 Pro houses a 50MP f/1.9 main camera, a 40MP f/1.8 ultra-wide camera, a 12MP f/3.4 telephoto lens, a ToF (Time of flight) sensor, as well as a 32MP selfie camera with f/2.2 aperture. Photoshooting is basically the P40 Pro’s forte as it presents bright and vibrant colours without being oversaturated. It also displays tiny detail without any blurry presence with the help of its optical zoom. Portrait modes on the device are also comparable to professional photography. You can save the cost of hiring a professional photographer to deliver your portraits, as users are given the option to modify the type of simulated bokeh. Low-light photography isn’t disappointing either as object detail can be spotted easily.

When it comes to battery capacity, the smartphone packs a 4,200mAh battery, which can last for about 2 days in idle mode. If all settings are adjusted to the max, for instance, full resolution, full refresh rate, and maximum brightness, with continuous gameplay added to the mix, you can get 8 hours of on-screen time. After the battery is fully consumed, it can be recharged fully in 74 minutes with its included-in-the-box 40W SuperCharge adapter. Not only does it support 27W wireless charging, but it also does very well in reverse wireless charging in topping up the battery juice of Qi-charging gadgets like watches, earphones, and phones.

Unfortunately, the only dealbreaker in this Huawei mobile is that it lacks Google support to run major mobile applications smoothly. There are several ways to triumph over this hurdle. One of them is to use Phone Clone to transfer apps from your existing device. Secondly, you may try installing individual APKs from APK sites like Whatsapp and Facebook. If you’re familiar with App Gallery, then this dealbreaker wouldn’t be a huge issue, although it could be made better with easier access to a wide variety of applications.
