Razer Phone 2 Release Date and Leaks in Singapore.
The first Razer phone was released in November 2017. Like with most of their products, the Razer phone is built for mobile gamers. It was the first phone model that is jam-packed with gaming-centric features, well-received by gamers and smartphone lovers alike. Now, Razer is keeping up the momentum with the release of its Razer Phone 2 mobile phone. It has several improvements like the camera and privacy controls which will surely get fans excited. Here’s what we know so far about the Razer Phone 2 release date and specs.
Razer Phone 2 Release Date and Price
The first thing you need to know about this Razer Phone is the price and release date. As of now, the Razer Phone 2 is still in the works. It is most likely it will hit the store shelves in Singapore in the last quarter of 2018. However, there are leaks suggesting that the phone could be launched by September or could even be showcased during IFA which will take place in the first week of September. If you want to know more about the Razer Phone 2 release date, stay tuned.
When it comes to the price, the Razer Phone 2 is expected to have the same $700-$800 price range as its predecessor. There are speculations, however, that it could cost a bit more considering that it will come with new tech and extra features.
Improvements with the Camera
Among the many major leaks regarding the Razer Phone 2 is the camera. It is speculated to have a portrait camera mode that works well with the device’s dual 12-MP cameras. For starters, portrait mode is a useful feature for mobile photography helping you take better photos of a single subject. When the camera is in portrait mode, it will use a large aperture to blur the background while focusing on the subject. As a result, the photos will appear stunning as though they are captured with a professional camera.
The New Android P OS
Another great feature about the Razer Phone 2 is its OS. It is one of the few brands which are in line for the new Android P OS beta testing. It is reported that the brand is now working with Google to create the OS to properly optimize the phone. Aside from that, it could come with the Android P – the latest smartphone OS that comes with a slew of nifty features such as an updated Home button that will let users access recent apps and the dashboard that will help users monitor the amount of time spent on the device. Other interesting features you will find on the Razer Phone include the Wind Down Mode and Adaptive Brightness. The former will send commands to the Google Assistant to put your phone on busy mode when you would like to go to bed. The latter will allow you to set preferences to your brightness settings. Once the Adaptive Brightness is set up, it will make the necessary changes based on your preferred lighting settings.
New Privacy controls
Another feature that this phone would have is the new privacy controls. The Razer Phone 2 will now be compliant with the E.U’s General Data Protection Regulation (GPDR) rules. These will be fully implemented on May 25, with features that will enable users to access, amend, or remove data held about themselves. To fully comply with the GDPR rules, Razer might change its products and services or remove them entirely in order to adhere to the standard. As of writing, Razer has not provided specific details about these changes. However, we are not sure how it will impact Singaporean units.
