Samsung has unveiled three new flagships under the Galaxy S lineup: the S20, the S20+, and the S20 Ultra in Singapore. This new Galaxy series can easily be defined as the more enhanced version of the S10 series packed with remarkable upgrades in both hardware and software, especially camera intelligence.
What are the specifications and features of Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra?
Large Dynamic AMOLED Display
The Galaxy S20 Ultra has the biggest screen size among all Samsung flagship phones, boasting a 6.9-inch display and an ultra-high resolution of 1440 by 3200 pixels AMOLED screen with a 120Hz refresh rate. The S20 Ultra is adorned by Gorilla Glass 6 on the front and back surrounded by an aluminium chassis.
Exynos 990 chipset
Under the hood, the Galaxy S20 Ultra features the brand’s own Exynos 990 octa-core chipset, consisting of a dual-core neural processing unit (NPU) and digital signal processor (DSP). The processor is capable of delivering fast and efficient machine learning performance. It is well-suited for the 5G cellular modem in the device that aims to deliver speedy mobile broadband, allowing you to stream videos smoothly and download high-resolution media in no time. Coupled with 12GB RAM, lag is a thing of the past when playing graphic-intensive games.
Impressive Quad Camera with 100x Space Zoom
The S20 Ultra’s wide camera sports a whopping 108MP sensor with an f/1.8 aperture lens, Dual Pixel PDAF and OIS; its telephoto lens, or also known as a periscope lens, has a 48MP sensor with an aperture of f/3.5, PDAF, OIS as well as the extraordinary Space Zoom feature supported by the 10x hybrid optical zoom. You’ll be astonished by how much detail you can see in an object shot from afar.
12MP Ultra-Wide Camera and 40MP Front Camera
Moving on to the ultra-wide camera, it features a 12 MP sensor with an f/2.2 aperture lens. As for the selfie camera, it has a 40MP sensor that helps to achieve enhanced picture quality for video calls via Google Duo app as well as vlogging.
Super Steady feature
As seen in Samsung Galaxy S10 and Note 10 range, this feature is incredibly useful for recording extreme adventures or sports activities. By utilising the Ultra-Wide lens, the Galaxy S20 Ultra is capable of stabilising any shaky movements in video recordings.
MASSIVE battery capacity
Packed with 5,000mAh battery, it only requires 70 minutes to reach 100% battery from 0%. The Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra also supports 15W wireless charging, 45W fast charging, and 9W reverse wireless charging, which is made possible through a USB Type-C cable.
Goodbye, headphone jack
Samsung officially bade farewell to the 3.5mm headphone jack ever since the Note 10 release, and it’s no different for the Galaxy S20 models as well. It looks like the South Korean tech giant is hoping for S20 users to make a switch to the Galaxy Buds.
Supported by Android 10 and One UI 2.5; IP68 dust and water-resistant allowing the mobile phone to be submerged in water of up to 1.5 metres for 30 minutes; ultrasonic in-display fingerprint sensor
