Sony Xperia XA2 Singapore: A Feature-Packed Budget Smartphone

The Xperia XA2 is one of the finest mid-range smartphones in 2018, packed with some flagship features at a lower price range. It arrived alongside its bigger version, the Xperia XA2 Ultra and cheaper variant, Xperia L2, at CES 2018. It is the successor of the Xperia XA1 in 2017 which comes with a remarkable set of cameras for an affordable price point. The Sony Xperia XA2’s main selling points include a 5.2-inch full HD display, Snapdragon 630 chipset, 3GB of RAM, 32GB of storage, 8MP front camera, and a 23MP rear camera.

Much-Improved Design

The Xperia XA2 retains Sony’s signature design elements including chunky bezels above and below the display and a square-shaped build. However, the bezels have been minimized, making it more visually appealing than its predecessor. It is smaller in height, although it sports a larger display. The XA2 is also thicker due to the addition of a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner and a larger battery. Its weight has also increased to 171g which isn’t too light nor too heavy. As for the aesthetic elements, the XA2’ front panel is made of metal which feels nice in the hand, while its rear is made of plastic which looks sturdy and is slightly curved to help it sit in your hand a bit more comfortably. On the bottom of the device, you’ll find a USB-C port for charging, while on the top, there’s a headphone jack.

Full HD Display

Another major upgrade of the XA2 over its previous iteration is the 5.2-inch Full HD screen with 1080 p resolution. This means you will see colourful, clear, and bright visuals on this device despite its low price point, making it a fantastic choice. The display stretches all the way to the left and right edges of the handset, which improves its overall look. With that, the display is awesome for social networking, messaging, emailing, and web browsing.

Great Performance and Battery

The Sony Xperia XA2 runs on Snapdragon 630 processor and a 3 GB of RAM, which allows its software, the Android Oreo, to perform smoothly. With all these specs, expect quick loading times and smooth navigation while browsing and gaming. Aside from that, the XA2 houses a 3,300 mAh battery, which is 20% more than its previous iteration.

Produces Great Shots

On the back of the XA2, there’s a cutting-edge camera that comes with a 23-MP sensor that provides new features, thanks to the addition of the Snapdragon 630 processor. This chip allows you to capture 4K videos as well as improve the camera’s low light capabilities. Shots which are captured in poorly lit conditions show great details and sharpness. In front, there’s an 8-MP sensor that provides a wider coverage for selfies so there’s no need to squeeze all your friends.
