Gray-colored Xiaomi Redmi 4A recently surfaced online
The Xiaomi Redmi 4A was launched back in November last year and is available in two color options, namely Gold and Rose Gold. Recently, the device was spotted having a gray color, suggesting that the company will be adding a new color variant to the collection.
Mar 16, 2017
Last year, Xiaomi unveiled the Redmi 4A alongside the Redmi Note 4 and Redmi 4. The Redmi 4A came out as a budget smartphone that can be purchased for just USD 100 and is currently the tech firm's cheapest handset offering. Although it falls into the entry-level category, the device's specs are considerably remarkable and a good value for the price.
Speaking of the specs, the Redmi 4A initially sports a capable 5-inch IPS display with 720p resolution and is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 425 processor. It packs a 16GB internal memory storage that can be expanded. Going to the optics, it has a decent 13-megapixel rear snapper and a 5-megapixel camera up front. It also comes with Dual SIM slots. However, it comes with a smaller battery capacity of 3120mAh and lacks a fingerprint scanner.
The Redmi 4A originally came with just two color options, namely Gold and Rose Gold. Apparently, Xiaomi is planning to add a new color to the collection. There's no confirmation about this matter yet but recently, a new listing on a Russian website showcased the device in Gray hue. The shade comes with a black front bezel which is quite stunning. It seems like a twist to the originally available colors of the Redmi 4A that are lighter and refreshing to the eyes. This one might be meant for the fans who prefer darker shades.
In addition, the same source suggests that the classic Redmi 4A, Gold and Rose Gold Versions, will pack higher storage capacity. From the original 16GB built-in memory, the new variant is said to come with 32GB native storage. The info was traced to be from Aliexpress which might be the basis of the formerly mentioned source. Although the product listing did not specify the available colors, we can assume that a 32GB Redmi 4A Gray version would also be coming.

Xiaomi Redmi 4a Singapore: Power and Speed in a Small Package
Whether you’re working or lounging on your couch, the new Xiaomi Redmi 4A is your best buddy. It packs a great hardware and a massive battery, guaranteeing you smoother experience throughout the day. On top of that, it is light and boasts a smooth matte finish that feels great in your hands. Here are some of the impressive specs and features of this midrange device from Xiaomi.
Sleek metal design
At first glance, the Xiaomi Redmi 4A may appear metallic but its body is actually made of polycarbonate. The back exterior has separate divisions at the top and bottom that resemble the antenna-like bands found on metallic Redmi models.
This handset looks similar to previous Redmi phones design-wise. With that, you won't be disappointed. With a pocket-sized 5-inch screen, the Xiaomi Redmi 4A is easy to use with just one hand. The volume rocker and power button can easily be accessed on the right-hand side, while the hybrid SIM slot is found on the left. The charging port is on the bottom, and there's a 3.5mm audio jack and infrared emitter on the top.
Decent Hardware and Performance
This handset houses a quad-core Snapdragon 425 processor clocked at 1.4GHz, coupled with an Adreno 308 GPU. It has 2GB of RAM and 16GB of storage which can be expanded using a microSD card (up to 128GB). The handset packs a non-removable 3120mAh battery, which can deliver seven days of standby time. Aside from 4G, the Xiaomi Redmi 4A is compatible with GLONASS, Bluetooth 4.1, GPS/AGPS, and Wi-Fi 801.11 b/g/n.
The Xiaomi Redmi 4A also comes with a hybrid dual-SIM slot that can hold one Micro-SIM and either a Nano-SIM or a microSD card at one time. When two SIM cards are used, the primary one can support 4G calls and data while the secondary SIM falls back to 2G calls only. It has top-of-the-line sensors on board like a gyroscope, accelerometer, proximity, and ambient light.
Impressive Camera
The Xiaomi Redmi 4A has a 13-megapixel rear camera with a 5-element lens and f/2.2 aperture. It also has an LED flash, and supports low-light enhancement, HDR, panorama, burst mode, and face recognition. With that, you will be able to take pretty good shots with decent colours as long as there is enough light around. Shots taken during the day have better details.
Aside from that, you get plenty of real-time filters which can be used for fun. There is a 5-megapixel front-facing camera with an f/2.2 aperture as well. You get 1080p and 720p video recording options at 30fps.
