Xiaomi Redmi 4x Singapore: A Budget Smartphone with Incredible Battery

The Xiaomi Redmi 4X is a feature-packed device which is on par with its rivals in terms of performance and value. In fact, in 2017, it is dubbed as one of the best budget smartphones due to its great features like its massive battery. If you’re in the market for a budget smartphone with very good capabilities, no doubt, the Redmi 4X is the choice to go with right now.

Good Build and Design

The Redmi 4X offers a similar feel to its predecessors. Its front panel has a few plastic trimmings that offer a nice feel in the hand and the rest is made up of quality, brushed aluminium. This also serves as a coolant for the device, better than many other smartphones with glass and plastic trimmings. The metal rear panel is flanked by a plastic (polycarbonate) top and bottom, which also doubles as the antennae reception. The Redmi 4X also curves around the rear to the side panels, which makes for a better grip in hand. Overall, the build and design are very good and quite impressive.

Great Display

The Redmi 4X features a 5-inch screen with an IPS LCD panel and a decent resolution of 720x1280p. The display has some contoured corners which are enough to avoid any sharp edges. On top of that, there’s a Gorilla Glass to protect the device against accidental falls. In terms of display quality, the Redmi 4X’s screen offers bright colors and visuals. The display is also legible under direct sunlight which makes viewing easy in bright lighting conditions.

Smooth Performance

The Redmi 4X sports a Qualcomm Snapdragon 435 processor with 8 cores clocked at 1.4GHz clock speed, coupled with an Adreno 505 GPU. These specs allow the smartphone to run very smoothly and perform any task you throw at it with ease. Aside from that, the Redmi 4X is equipped with a 4 GB of RAM, although there are options for 3GB and 2GB variants too.

Massive Battery Life

The Redmi 4X’s incredible battery capacity is one of its key features. When used under moderate usage, the Redmi 4X’s battery gives you plenty of hours of life between charges. Moderate usage includes calls, emails, chats, an hour of streaming, and a few games. The device also has Qualcomm’s Quick Charge 3.0, which fully charges in under 3 hours, while also providing around an hour or two of battery life from 10 minutes of charge time.

Decent Camera

For a budget device, the Redmi 4X features a 13MP rear-facing camera with f/2.0 aperture and LED flash, which are decent enough for its price segment. It also has Phase Detection Autofocus (PDAF) that enables responsive autofocus and image processing when you quickly want to take a snap. Overall, the Redmi 4X can produce great photos, as long as the lighting conditions are good.
