ZTE Nubia Z17 Mini Hosts Better Features Than Last Year’s Z11 Mini
Last month, the ZTE Nubia Z17 Mini was launched in China. It was sold out in just 56 seconds upon its release. Part of its big success comes from its marketing aspect as the renowned football superstar, Cristiano Ronaldo, helped endorse the handset. It is believed that over 50,000 units were sold. The Z17 Mini got some of its design and features from last year’s Z11 Mini but it also comes with new features. The Z17 Mini comes with a Full HD 5.2-inch display with Gorilla Glass covering that can withstand drops onto rough or hard surfaces. It also houses a fingerprint sensor, making it easy and more secure to lock the device.
In terms of performance, the Z17 Mini runs on Snapdragon 653 chipset with 8 cores. It has Adreno 510 GPU and two RAM variants: a 4 GB and a 6 GB one. This makes the Z17 Mini a powerful mid-range smartphone, capable of running demanding mobile apps and games. Meanwhile, the Z17 Mini’s 2950 mAh battery is a slight improvement over its predecessor. Also, The Z17 Mini runs on the Android Marshmallow. As of writing, ZTE has not announced yet if it would get an update to the latest Android 7.0 Nougat.
The best part about the Z17 Mini is its two 13 MP sensors on the back. The sensors host a monochrome lens and an RGB lens, making it an ideal handset for smartphone photographers. It also has a 16 MP front-facing camera with an 80-degree wide-angle lens, which allows you to capture images with more background. Other features of the Z17 Mini include a 64 GB internal storage (which can be expanded up to 256 GB via a microSD card), dual sim slot, and a 4G LTE.
ZTE has not made any announcements as to when the smartphone will be available in South East Asian markets. Its price should be around 1066 RM in Malaysia, 342 SGD in Singapore, 1920 HKD in Hong Kong, and 12249 PHP in the Philippines.
