Deltamac Brothers (2007) (VCD) (Hong Kong Version)
S$ 9.70
YesAsia
Fans of Hong Kong television station TVB undoubtedly remember the Five Tigers. Andy Lau, Tony Leung Chiu Wai, Felix Wong, Miu Kiu Wai, and Ken Tong were famously packaged as a group during TVB's mid-eighties heyday. The five reunited for the 1991 cop thriller The Tigers, directed by Eric Tsang, and have occasionally worked together since. Nostalgia beckons once more, as Andy Lau and his Focus Films production company have reunited four of the Five Tigers for the gangster melodrama Brothers. Tony Leung couldn't make the party, but the filmmakers bring in Eason Chan (Hooked on You), Wang Zhi Wen (Together), Gordon Lam (Infernal Affairs), and Elaine Kam (Tempting Heart). Overseeing the promising cast is Derek Chiu (The Log), returning to the director's chair for the first time since 2004's Love Trilogy. Tensions rise in the triad underworld when triad leader Tin Tam (Wang Zhi Wen) falls victim to an assassination attempt. His son, triad head Yiu Tam (Miu Kiu Wai), is now in charge, and must secure the safety of the triad from interlopers Uncle Nine (Henry Fong) and Kui (Ken Tong). Meanwhile, cop Inspector Lau (Andy Lau) angles to bring Yiu down. Amidst this, Yiu's innocent brother, Shun Tam (Eason Chan) returns from America to visit his ailing father, only to find himself quickly drawn into the escalating violence of the triad underworld. Yiu acts to keep his brother safe, with trusted enforcer Ghostie (Felix Wong) acting as Shun's bodyguard. But Yiu may not be entirely on the level. Years ago, a fortune teller told Tin Tam that one of his sons would someday kill the other. To prevent that tragedy, Tin separated the two, but now that Shun and Yiu are back together, and with violence and betrayal surrounding them, it may only be a matter of time before the prophecy comes true.

Deltamac Yes, I Can See Dead People (VCD) (Hong Kong Version) at 9.70 SGD from YesAsia
Deltamac Yes, I Can See Dead People (VCD) (Hong Kong Version)
S$ 9.70
YesAsia
Sun Boy'z member Steven Cheung sheds his bandmates to take on a starring role in Yes, I Can See Dead People, a teen horror film about that age-old movie problem: seeing ghosts. As the title might suggest, Yes, I See Dead People has moments of comedy to lighten its otherwise creepy premise, but it still features tense atmosphere and plenty of shock scares that should have teenagers cowering in delighted fear. Though the concept of "seeing ghosts" has long been overused, Yes, I See Dead People manages to separate itself from similar genre entries, managing a fine balance between creepy horror and knowing comedy. Steven Cheung departs from his usual sidekick roles to play the hero, and is joined by Kris Gu (The Eye 10), screen veteran Lau Kong, and fellow EEG singer Mandy Chiang. Steven Cheung is Nam, a slacker who has the power to see dead people - and he seems to be pretty okay with it. From departed friends to ghostly children, the undead populate the corridors of Nam's housing estate, and he's used to their presence, disturbing though it should be. Things change when his brother Tung (Kris Gu) begins acting distant and wetting himself, and Nam thinks that there may more be going on than just his brother's lack of self control. Estate security guard Fok (Lau Kong) clues Nam in: there are dangerous ghosts too, and one of them is starting to mount his own terror campaign by possessing Nam's neighbors and family. Fok also teaches Nam that those who possess ghost-seeing powers must bear the responsibility to use them properly. But can Nam learn the tricks of the ghost-busting trade before the evil spirits take his brother or the stewardess (Kathy Yuen) that he has the hots for?

EXO's D.O. (Unforgettable) and Jo Jung Suk (Time Renegades) depict a love-hate brotherly bond in My Annoying Brother. Created by director Kwon Su Gyeong (Barefoot, Gi Bong) and Miracle in Cell No. 7 screenwriter Yoo Young Ah, the family comedy narrates a heartwarming story about two brothers who re-encounter after 15 years of separation. Park Shin Hye (The Royal Tailor) co-stars as a judo coach. Promising national judo athlete Doo Young (D.O.) loses his sight after getting injured during an international competition. Taking advantage of his step-brother's condition, Doo Sik (Jo Jung Suk), who is in prison for fraud, uses taking care of Doo Young as an excuse to plead for parole. Meanwhile, Doo Young has shut himself off from the world since losing his sight and suffers great stress when his annoying estranged brother suddenly shows up to live with him. Beyond his expectations, Doo Sik does help him cope with his disability, and the enmity gradually turns into warm brotherhood. Just as Doo Young begins to find his footing in life, Doo Sik is diagnosed with a deadly disease. This edition comes with special features including trailer, making-of, music video and cast greeting. First Press comes with six limited edition postcards, only available while supplies last.

Revolving around an armed task force dedicated to defending libraries and books in a dystopian near-future Japan in which the media censorship authority has become an oppressive organization, Arikawa Hiro's light novel series Library Wars was turned into a live-action blockbuster in 2013 starring V6's Okada Junichi and Eikura Nana. The film followed Kasahara Iku (Eikura Nana), a new recruit of the Library Defense Force, as she navigated a dangerous new world under the tutelage of her stern supervisor Dojo Atsushi (Okada Junichi). The original cast and crew return in 2015 for the film sequel Library Wars: The Last Mission, again directed by Sato Shinsuke. Set 18 months after the first film, The Last Mission sees the Library Defense Force take on their biggest battle when a mission to safeguard a book exhibition turns out to be a trap laid by the government-armed Media Betterment Committee to wipe out the defense force. Besides Okada and Eikura, Fukushi Sota, Kuriyama Chiaki, Tanaka Kei, Hashimoto Jun and Nishida Naomi, as well as Matsuzaka Tori, Nakamura Aoi and Tsuchiya Tao who appeared in the 2015 television special Library Wars: Book of Memories, also reprise their roles.

Directed by E J Yong (Behind the Camera), the touching melodrama My Brilliant Life stars popular actors Kang Dong Won and Song Hye Kyo as the parents of a child with advanced aging disorder. Based on Kim Ae Ran's best-selling novel, the heartrending tearjerker fills its story of love and family with warmth and gentle humor, anchored by a mature-beyond-his-years performance by child actor Jo Sung Mok. Dae Su (Kang Dong Won) and Mi Ra (Song Hye Kyo) became parents when they were only teenagers, and at times, the hardworking couple still come across as immature. They have, however, the world's most mature child. Born with a rare genetic disorder, Ah Reum (Jo Sung Mok) ages far faster than everyone else. At age 17, he has the frail body of an 80-year-old. As his birthday nears, Ah Reum, sensing that he may not have much time left, prepares a gift for the parents who have raised him with such love and care. This edition includes making of, interviews, trailers and Hong Kong promotion.

After his critically acclaimed dramedy The Great Passage, writer-director Ishii Yuya demonstrates a new sense of maturity with Our Family, an emotionally devastating drama about the breakdown of a dysfunctional family. Tsumabuki Satoshi (The Little House) stars as Kosuke, a man who is suddenly forced to quickly take charge of his family when his mother is diagnosed with a brain tumor and is only given a short time to live. To make things worse, Kosuke is told that both his parents have each run up mounting debts, and that he was made the guarantor. An official selection of the Montreal World Film Festival and the Busan International Film Festival, Our Family also co-stars Ikematsu Sosuke (Love's Whirlpool) as the family's younger son.

Every family has its secrets, but they can't remain secrets forever. Director Pang Ho Cheung explores the complex dynamics of a Hong Kong family in Aberdeen, one of the Hong Kong filmmaker's most personal projects of his career. Featuring a star-studded cast, the ambitious family drama stars Louis Koo (The White Storm), Gigi Leung (The Monkey King), Miriam Yeung (Love in a Puff), Eric Tsang (Horseplay) and Ng Man Tat (Shaolin Soccer) as members of a family that is on the verge of being destroyed by secrets from the past. Five years in the making, Aberdeen was the opening film of both the 2014 Hong Kong International Film Festival and the 2014 Udine Far East Film Festival. On the surface, the Cheng family seems like a normal middle-class family, but each member is dealing with difficult issues. Tao (Louis Koo) is one of Hong Kong's most successful celebrity cram school tutors. His wife Ceci (Gigi Leung) is a model whose career has been on a downward slope because of her age, and he's worried that their daughter Chloe may grow up being discriminated against because of her average looks. Meanwhile, Tao's older sister Ching (Miriam Yeung) can't get over that her late mother may still resent her from beyond the grave, as her doctor husband Yau (Eric Tsang) indulges in an extramarital affair with his clinic's young nurse (Jessica Choi). To make things worse, Tao refuses to acknowledge the relationship between his father (Ng Man Tat) and nightclub girl Ta (Carrie Ng). As the conflicts pile up, the secrets they thought they have forgotten threaten to resurface. This edition includes commentary, deleted scenes, three trailers, five making-of featurettes, a 26-minute documentary, theme song music video, director's statement, production notes and stills gallery.
