Loosely based on the autobiographical novel by sci-fi writer Mayumura Taku, 1,778 Stories of Me and My Wife is an emotionally touching drama about a man's determination to keep his wife alive. SMAP's Kusanagi Tsuyoshi (Ballad) plays a writer who, at the suggestion of a doctor, keeps his terminally ill wife (Takeuchi Yuko) alive with him by writing one short story a day to make her laugh. Written by Hanzawa Ritsuko (Threads of Destiny) and directed by Hoshi Mamoru (University of Laughs), this adult-oriented pure romance effectively gets the tears flowing while also dazzling the audiences by bringing the imaginative sci-fi short stories to life. Writer Sakutaro (Kusanagi Tsuyoshi) and his wife Setsuko (Takeuchi Yuko) have been inseparable since high school. When Setsuko starts getting stomach pains, she sees a doctor and is diagnosed with colon cancer. The doctor tells Sakutaro that laughter can help the immune system, prompting him to begin writing one short story a day for Setsuko. Initially only given a year left to live, Setsuko begins to find a will to live because of the stories. Even as the one-year period extends into years, Sakutaro continues writing stories on a daily basis, as long as Setsuko is around to read them.

Hey! Say! JUMP member Yamada Ryosuke takes his first film leading role in the live-action adaptation of mega-popular manga Assassination Classroom. Written by Matsui Yusei, Assassination Classroom has been serialized in Weekly Shonen Jump since 2012 and has sold over 10 million copies. The story begins when a mysterious creature destroys 70% of the moon and threatens to destroy the earth within the year. Strangely, the creature then offers to become the homeroom teacher of Kunugigaoka Junior High School's class 3E, notorious for being the home of the school's least academically-inclined students. In reaction to this, the world's leaders task class 3E with assassinating the creature, offering 10 billion as a reward for whomever succeeds. Yamada plays Shiota Nagisa, a 3E student whose friendly exterior masks a dark and dangerous disposition. Physically unimposing and weak, Shiota nevertheless proves to possess the skills of an assassin. The film also stars veteran Shiina Kippei (The After-Dinner Mysteries) as 3E's P.E. teacher Tadaomi Karasuma, former Kara member Kang Ji Young as an assassin/foreign language teacher, and Suda Masaki (Daily Lives Of High School Boys), Yamamoto Maika (Kamen Teacher: The Movie), Taketomi Seika (Hot Road), Yuki Mio (Kami-sama no Iu Toori) and Uehara Miku (Kimi ni Todoke) as Shiota's fellow students. Arashi's Ninomiya Kazunari voices Koro Sensei.

Japan's most famous public prosecutor is back! Popular Japanese TV and film franchise Hero returns to cinemas in 2015 with a new box office-topping mystery. First aired in 2001, Hero follows unorthodox public prosecutor Kuryu Kohei (Kimura Takuya). Known for eschewing the typical suit and tie in favor of jeans and an orange down jacket and impulsively purchasing infomercial gadgets, Kuryu's behavior often flummoxes his colleagues at a public prosecutor's office in Tokyo. However, his slacker appearance and attitude belie a brilliant investigative mind and compassionate heart, which help him crack one impossible case after another. Directed by Suzuki Masayuki and scripted by Fukuda Yasushi, both regulars of the series, the 2015 Hero feature film continues on from the 2014 television series. Besides Kimura Takuya, Kitagawa Keiko returns as his assistant, as do fellow prosecutors Sugimoto Tetta, Hamada Gaku and Yoshida Yo. Matsu Takako, who did not appear in the 2014 season, makes her return to the series after an eight-year absence. This time, Kuryu and his colleagues try to solve a case that is linked to a foreign embassy. However, their investigation is hampered by extraterritoriality. This edition includes a bonus disc.

Based on the manga by Arakawa Naoshi, the youth romance Your Lie in April stars Yamazaki Kento (Wolf Girl and Black Prince) and Hirose Suzu (Chihayafuru) in a moving story of first love and classical music. Directed by Shinjo Takehiko, whose previous works include I Give My First Love to You, Beyond the Memories and Heavenly Forest, the film gently conveys love, loss and dreams during that unforgettable spring of 17. E-girls member Ishii Anna (Solomon's Perjury) and Nakagawa Taishi (Minami-kun no Koibito: My Little Lover) co-star as the protagonists' friends. As a child, piano prodigy Arima Kosei (Yamazaki Kento) won many competitions under the strict and forceful tutelage of his demanding mother. His exceedingly precise play earned him the nickname of "Human Metronome." After his mother's death, however, Kosei stopped playing because he could no longer hear the sound of the piano. A few years later, 17-year-old Kosei meets violinist Kaori (Hirose Suzu), a bright and innocent girl who plays freely with all her heart and energy. Meeting Kaori opens Kosei's eyes to a new kind of music, different from the cold and emotionless world he once knew. With Kaori's help, Kosei begins to overcome his trauma and find the courage and motivation to play piano again, but Kaori also has a secret of her own. This edition comes with two bonus DVDs of special features including visual commentary, making-of collection, cast self-camera on-site reports, event footage and previews.

Known for his witty scripts, star-studded casts and elaborate setpieces, Mitani Koki heads to space in his latest comedy Galaxy Turnpike. Drawing on his theater roots, the writer-director often concentrates his offbeat story and eccentric characters in a single setting, be it the hotel of Suite Dreams, the courtroom of Once in a Blue Moon or the castle of The Kiyosu Conference. For Galaxy Turnpike, he sets the action entirely in outer space at a burger joint along the space highway. SMAP's Katori Shingo (Bayside Shakedown: The Final) and Ayase Haruka (Our Little Sister) lead the ensemble cast of extraterrestrial characters. In the year 2265, humanity has spread throughout the solar system, and situated next to Jupiter is a space colony called "Uzushio," which is home to a portion of a space highway that links to Earth. Once a buzzing area with numerous eateries, Uzushio's galaxy turnpike has seen business dwindle in recent years. Here in this dusty corner of the universe begins the story of Noa (Katori Shingo) and Noe (Ayase Haruka), the married proprietors of the fast-food restaurant Sandsand Burger. This edition comes with two bonus discs of special features, a photobook, a Sandsand Burger emblem and a sticker sheet.

However, when the body of a Japanese businessman is found in the region, Kuroda is suddenly dispatched to investigate. While interpol investigator Makoto (Ito Hideaki) tries to prevent Kuroda from getting involved, bank employee Yuka (Kuroki Meisa) asks for Kuroda's protection. As a result, Kuroda and Makoto are forced to work together and escort Yuka to Barcelona for assistance from diplomat Kanae (Toda Erika). When the three are attacked on the road, Kuroda suspects that there is a larger conspiracy behind the murder.

In the post-credit scene of the first Umizaru film, the filmmakers foreshadowed that rescue diver Senzaki and his team of Sea Monkeys will be on a perilous rescue mission involving a jet plane crashing into Tokyo Bay. That scenario becomes the set up for Brave Hearts Umizaru, the fourth film of the blockbuster film series! Star Ito Hideaki once again dons the wet suit as heroic rescuer Senzaki, returning along with Kato Ai as his long-suffering wife Kanna. However, the focus is being shifted to Sato Ryota's longtime sidekick Yoshioka, whose romance with flight attendant Mika (Naka Riisa) forms the emotional core of the film this time around. As they have done throughout the series, director Hasumi Eichiro and screenwriter Fukuda Yasushi have created another gripping, emotional blockbuster that became one of the top-grossing Japanese films in 2012. Two years have passed since the oil platform accident in The Last Message. Heroic rescue diver Senzaki Daisuke (Ito Hideaki) and longtime teammate Yoshioka (Sato Ryuta) have since transferred to the front line as members of a special rescue unit. While Senzaki and his wife Kanna (Kato Ai) are about to welcome a second child into their happy family, Yoshioka has also found love with flight attendant Mika (Naka Riisa). One day, Mika's Tokyo-bound flight catches mechanical trouble, putting over 300 souls in danger as the pilots attempt an emergency landing on water. Despite the plane landing safely, Senzaki, Yoshioka and their fellow sea monkeys only have 20 minutes to get everyone out before it sinks into water. Premium Edition includes audio commentary, making of, deleted scenes, stage events collection, outtakes, cast interviews and "Umizaru Graffiti Ultimate", a collection of the best moments from the series. It also comes with a replica of the film's shooting script.

First there was the popular 1997 Japanese television drama Odoru Daisosasen. Then came three television specials, and in 1998, the series came to the big screen in the form of the box office smash Bayside Shakedown. After that, there was the popular 2003 sequel Bayside Shakedown 2 and even a 2005 spin-off film, Negotiator Mashita Masayoshi. Now the popular cop franchise adds another winning installment to its ranks with The Suspect Muroi Shinji, and it now arrives on Blu-ray disc! Just like the earlier films in the series, The Suspect takes place in modern day Japan and revolves around the country's intricate, often serpentine police bureaucracy. However, this time the hero is Muroi Shinji (Yanagiba Toshiro), a stoic MPD chief investigator, who's definitely all business when it comes to dealing with matters of law. In a cruel twist of fate, however, Muroi finds himself being arrested on conspiracy charges related to the use of excessive force against a murder suspect who ended up dead. Muroi discovers that he is a pawn in a shadowy power struggle originating from within the police department. He's also fully aware that he's got to watch his back against the money-grubbing lawyers representing the dead suspect and a no-nonsense prosecutor (Sano Shiro) looking to take the chief investigator down, no matter the cost! With only an inexperienced young lawyer (Tanaka Rena), his staunch ally Detective Kudo (Aikawa Sho), and plenty of average joe beat cops on his side, can Muroi clear his name? Find out in writer/director Kimizuka Ryoichi's winning new addition to the mega popular Bayside Shakedown saga!

One of the most important turning points in Japanese political history is now a film from beloved writer-director Mitani Koki! Based on his own novel, The Kiyosu Conference is a humorous account of the meeting convened to decide the fate of the nation after the death of Oda Nobunaga. Mitani depicts the meeting as a battle of wits between two factions inside of the shogunate, and the winner will take rule of an entire nation. Like all Mitani films, The Kiyosu Conference features an all-star cast filled with familiar faces: Yakusho Koji (Suite Dreams), Oizumi Yo (The Detective in the Bar), Sato Koichi (The Magic Hour), Tsumabuki Satoshi (Tokyo Family), Suzuka Kyoka (Flowers), Nakatani Miki (Memories of Matsuko) and Matsuyama Kenichi (Death Note). 1582, Japan. When Oda Nobunaga and his eldest son are forced to take their own lives, his chief retainers including Shibata Katsuie (Yakusho Koji) and Hashiba Hideyoshi (Oizumi Yo) convene at Kiyosu Castle to decide on the fate of the shogunate. The chief retainers immediately split into two factions, with the conservative Shibata pushing for Nobunaga's second son and with the wily, charismatic Hideyoshi pushing for another candidate. What follows is a fierce battle of wits that will go into the history books as Japan's first political summit.

Fuji TV's hit police drama series Unfair comes to the big screen, with Shinohara Ryoko reprising her memorable role as a tough female cop. Based on a Hata Takehiko novel, both the film and the drama are carried brilliantly by force of its strong female protagonist, whose fearless, peerless, no-nonsense demeanor is both refreshing and liberating. This crime action flick about a lone woman in a man's world throws a mean punch without forgetting the human side of the story. Kobayashi Yoshinori, who directed the television series, also helms this silver-screen adaptation. Hardboiled, hard-drinking, and hard-hitting female detective Yukihira Natsumi (Shinohara Ryoko) has the best record in the police force, but it has come at a cost. Her fiercely independent personality and penchant to not go by the books has alienated her from colleagues, while her dedication, or perhaps obsession, with work has already cost her a marriage and custody of her eight-year-old daughter. Natsumi has no time for apologies and misgivings though when there is crime to be fought. She is forced to reconsider everything she knows, however, when terrorists take over the hospital her daughter is being treated at. How far will she go to save her daughter?

We are never, ever, ever...getting back together.... Those catchy lines from Taylor Swift are about to be heard one last time in the feature film season one finale of hit Japanese reality show Terrace House. A mix between The Real World and The Hills, Terrace House puts three single men and three single women in a suburban house in hopes that they will fall in love. In Closing Door, current residents, new faces and former members return to the iconic house for their last chance at love at the Terrace House. Will former model Shimabukuro Seina finally hook up with pro surfer Ma-kun? Will aspiring actor Sugaya Setsuya finally find love? This edition features both the original theatrical cut and the extended director's cut of the film.
