Shinohara Ryoko is back as one of Japan s toughest female cops in Unfair: The Answer. After tackling a tough hostage situation in Unfair The Movie, Detective Yukihara now becomes embroiled in a serial murder case and ends up being framed as the prime suspect. Taking over as director for the first time in the franchise, screenwriter Sato Shimako (K-20) creates a complex narrative that includes a murder mystery, a battle between prosecutors and the police, and even a conspiracy thriller that reaches the highest levels of government. All of this adds up to the biggest and the most dangerous case Yukihara has ever faced! After the hospital hostage incident in Unfair The Movie, tough-talking detective Yukihara Natsumi (Shinahara Ryoko) is transferred to Hokkaido. While she is adjusting to the new environment, her former colleagues in Tokyo begin investigating a series of brutal murders. In the process, they find the fingerprints of Yukihara s ex-husband Kazuo (Kagawa Teruyuki) on one of the victims, turning him into a suspect. Now on the run, Kazuo manages to find Yukihara and hands her a USB drive containing information about a secret organization within the police force. After the meeting, Yukihara is suddenly arrested as another prime suspect in the case. Now, Yukihara may have to rely on Tokyo prosecutor Murakami (Yamada Takayuki) to prove her innocence. Premium Edition includes interviews, stage event collection, making of, deleted scenes, an Unfair seminar, and a photo gallery.

Fuji TV Liar Game: The Final Stage (Blu-ray) (Premium Edition) (Japan Version)
S$ 137.60
YesAsia
Based on the comic series by Kaitani Shinobu, the 2007 television drama adaptation of Liar Game was such a surprise hit in its late-night slot that it earned Fuji TV's commitment for both a second series and a theatrical film. Stars Toda Erika (Death Note) and Matsuda Shota (Hana Yori Dango) return as the master players of a never-ending game that pits players in battles of deception with intricate rules and simple consequences: money for the winner, and a mountain of debt for the loser. Along with the stars, series one writer Furuya Osho also returns to join forces with series two writer Kuroiwa Tsutomu and pen the final chapter of the saga. With the mind-twisting game reaching its finale, it's no surprise that The Final Stage is also the game's biggest stage yet. The Final Stage continues the story from the end of the series two, as college student Nao (Toda Erika) and her brilliant swindler partner Akiyama (Matsuda Shota) enter the final round of mysterious corporation LGT's Liar Game. Dubbed "The Garden of Eden Game", the stakes are higher than ever in the final round, as the prize money has been increased from 100 million yen to 5 billion yen. Like the previous games, the winner takes the money home, and the loser is sent into debt for the same amount. With the mysterious and powerful Player X entering as one of the 11 players in the game, even Akiyama may not be able to help Nao win this time around. Premium Edition Blu-ray comes with an all-cast interview, a making of starring Toda Erika, A real Liar Game featuring 28 female TV hosts, stage event, and trailers.

From Sakamoto Yuji, the screenwriter of the legendary 1991 drama Tokyo Love Story and recent hit titles like Mother, Matrimonial Chaos and Woman, comes the moving Fuji TV drama Itsuka kono Koi wo Omidashite Kitto Naiteshimau (a.k.a. Love That Makes You Cry). The bittersweet urban romance series realistically follows the struggles of six ordinary young adults Arimura Kasumi (Yokoso, Wagaya e), Kora Kengo (Hana Moyu), AAA's Nishijima Takahiro (Taiyo no Wana), Sakaguchi Kentaro (No Longer Heroine), Takahata Mitsuki (Mondai no Aru Restaurant) and Morikawa Aoi (Teddy Go!) trying to make something of themselves in a Tokyo full of both dreams and disillusions. Soda Ren (Kora Kengo) is a sincere, hardworking boy from Fukushima who wants nothing more than to buy farmland for his grandfather. To achieve this dream, he heads to Tokyo and takes up work at a moving company, only to quickly learn that life in the city is neither easy nor profitable. Sugihara Oto (Arimura Kasumi) has lived in Hokkaido with relatives since her mother died. Despite a tumultuous childhood, she tries to maintain an optimistic, practical outlook on life until her indebted uncle reveals plans to marry her off to a much older man. After meeting Ren in Hokkaido, Oto runs off to Tokyo with his help, but they lose contact with each other. Alone in the big city, Oto forges a humble but content new life for herself as a retirement home caregiver and attracts an admirer (Nishijima Takahiro). However, she can't forget Ren and longs to meet him again. When the two finally cross paths by chance, they form an immediate emotional connection but Ren already has a girlfriend (Takahata Mitsuki).

Shall We Dance? director Suo Masayuki shows you what it takes to become a maiko in Lady Maiko, a fun big-screen musical that follows the tradition of the filmmaker's lovable underdog comedies Fancy Dance and Sumo Do Sumo Don't. Inspired by My Fair Lady, the film stars talented newcomer Kamishiraishi Mone (chosen from 800 applicants) as a country girl who goes to Kyoto to become a maiko an apprentice geiko like her late mother. Intrigued by the girl's odd rural accent (she was born in the south, then lived in the north), a linguistics professor (Hasegawa Hiroki) bets his friend that he can teach her to speak in proper Kyoto accent within six months. Featuring music written by Suo's regular composer Suo Yoshikazu, Lady Maiko is filled with colorful Broadway-style musical sequences that truly bring the east and west together in one dazzling package. This edition includes making of, stage events, deleted musical sequences, spin-off television programs, locations guide and trailers.

TOKIO frontman Nagase Tomoya stars in the 2016 drama adaptation of the manga series Fragile. Written by Kusami Zubin and illustrated by Megumi Saburo, Fragile began serialization in Gekkan Afternoon in August 2014. The medical manga follows the professional exploits of Kishi Keiichiro, an eccentric and combative pathologist who is as terrible at social relationships as he is brilliant at diagnosing patients. His insensitivity and irreverent attitude regularly bring him to clash with fellow doctors, but it is precisely his stubborn dedication to delivering 100% accurate diagnoses that makes him one of the very best in his field. Emi Takei co-stars as a young doctor who is inspired by Kishi to join the pathology department, but faces an uphill battle adjusting to her new field and superior. Nomura Shuhei is the sole lab technician of the pathology department, as he's the only one who can put up with Kishi, and Koyuki co-stars as a fellow doctor.

Fuji TV's hit police drama series Unfair comes to the big screen, with Shinohara Ryoko reprising her memorable role as a tough female cop. Based on a Hata Takehiko novel, both the film and the drama are carried brilliantly by force of its strong female protagonist, whose fearless, peerless, no-nonsense demeanor is both refreshing and liberating. This crime action flick about a lone woman in a man's world throws a mean punch without forgetting the human side of the story. Kobayashi Yoshinori, who directed the television series, also helms this silver-screen adaptation. Hardboiled, hard-drinking, and hard-hitting female detective Yukihira Natsumi (Shinohara Ryoko) has the best record in the police force, but it has come at a cost. Her fiercely independent personality and penchant to not go by the books has alienated her from colleagues, while her dedication, or perhaps obsession, with work has already cost her a marriage and custody of her eight-year-old daughter. Natsumi has no time for apologies and misgivings though when there is crime to be fought. She is forced to reconsider everything she knows, however, when terrorists take over the hospital her daughter is being treated at. How far will she go to save her daughter?

Loosely based on the autobiographical novel by sci-fi writer Mayumura Taku, 1,778 Stories of Me and My Wife is an emotionally touching drama about a man's determination to keep his wife alive. SMAP's Kusanagi Tsuyoshi (Ballad) plays a writer who, at the suggestion of a doctor, keeps his terminally ill wife (Takeuchi Yuko) alive with him by writing one short story a day to make her laugh. Written by Hanzawa Ritsuko (Threads of Destiny) and directed by Hoshi Mamoru (University of Laughs), this adult-oriented pure romance effectively gets the tears flowing while also dazzling the audiences by bringing the imaginative sci-fi short stories to life. Writer Sakutaro (Kusanagi Tsuyoshi) and his wife Setsuko (Takeuchi Yuko) have been inseparable since high school. When Setsuko starts getting stomach pains, she sees a doctor and is diagnosed with colon cancer. The doctor tells Sakutaro that laughter can help the immune system, prompting him to begin writing one short story a day for Setsuko. Initially only given a year left to live, Setsuko begins to find a will to live because of the stories. Even as the one-year period extends into years, Sakutaro continues writing stories on a daily basis, as long as Setsuko is around to read them.

It's once more into the fray for Matsuda Shota, who returns to the Liar Game without co-star Toda Erika for the first time in Liar Game - Reborn, the second film based on Kaitani Shinobu's popular manga. Resetting the game two years after the end of The Final Stage, the creators have set up a new Liar Game with new rules and the same consequences: a big payday for the winner, and a mountain of debt for the 19 other losers. This time, Matsuda's master schemer character Akiyama is joined by Shinomiya (played by Tabe Mikako, Kimi ni Todoke), who needs his help to defeat the new "musical chairs" game created by the mysterious Omega (television actress Esumi Makiko) and Alice (Japan's sweetheart Ashida Mana). As revenge for the events at the end of Liar Game - The Final Stage, the Liar Game authorities have created the game's most difficult challenge yet. After much-needed convincing by young college student Shinomiya (Tabe Mikako), former con artist/Liar Game player Akiyama (Matsuda Shota) also agrees to return to play for the two billion yen prize. However, not even Akiyama's experience with the game can prepare him for what game runners Omega (Esumi Makiko) and Alice (Ashida Mana) have in store for the 20 players. This edition includes the spin-off dramas Alice in Liar Game and Fukunaga VS Yokoya, as well as making of, stage events, and trailers.

On March 11, 2011, a powerful earthquake and the tsunami waves that followed killed tens of thousands of people in northeast Japan. Journalist Ishii Kota chronicled his ten days in the town of Kamaishi one of the hardest-hit areas in the disasters in his book Itai Shinsai, Tsunami of Hate ni. Writer-director Kimizuka Ryoichi (the Bayside Shakedown series, Nobody to Watch Over Me) recreates those ten days in Reunion. The film stars Nishida Toshiyuki (Ghost of a Chance, Outrage Beyond) as a retired funeral home employee who brought order to Kamaishi's temporary funeral home and helped families of the victims properly put their loved ones to rest. Proceeds from the film were donated to the recovery effort in the disaster zone. After the March 11th tsunami virtually wiped away half of Kamaishi, a temporary morgue was set up in a local gym to handle the dead. After the disaster, retired undertaker Chiba Atsushi (Nishida Toshiyuki) volunteered to take charge of the funeral home. Using his years of experience, Atsushi taught rescue workers to handle the bodies with care, arranged for the bodies to be presented in a respectable state to family members and spoke softly to them as he prepared them for their final journey into the crematorium. Soon, rescue workers, city employees and medical professionals working on the site were so touched by Atsushi's dedication to the cause that they eventually come together to lend a helping hand.

The world of Asian horror gets a whole lot more terrifying with the hotly anticipated release of Siren, the live action feature film adaptation of the popular Playstation 2 video game! Also known by the alternative title Forbidden Siren, this 2006 survival horror thrill-fest from director Tsutsumi Yukihiko features a plot that coincides with the events of the second game in the Siren series. Set on the remote, rural island of Yamijima just off the coast of the Japan, Siren centers on the plight of a mild-mannered freelance writer (Morimoto Reo), who relocates his family to the film's dark, forbidding location. Along for the trip are his anxious, already grown daughter and his sickly young son, both of whom join dad in a seemingly ancient, suitably creepy Japanese-style house. Not long after settling into their not-so-cozy new home, things take a dramatic turn when a slightly disturbed neighbor shows up at their doorstep to give the family some friendly advice about abiding by the local customs. Above all, the family is warned to never, ever venture outside whenever the island's siren, itself housed within a sinister steel tower, begins to wail. What is the secret of the siren? And what does it all have to do with the powerful group of undead creatures wandering outside in the dark? And most importantly, will the writer's family live to tell the tale? Find out in Siren, a horrifying journey into the unknown, featuring performances from Tanaka Naoki, Abe Hiroshi, Nishida Naomi, Matsuo Suzuki, Shimada Kyusaku, Takahashi Mai, and Nishiyama Jun!

Odoru Daisousasen was originally a TV drama about life at Wangan Precinct, a suburban neighborhood where its staff treats serving and protecting citizens more like an office job than a righteous calling. Its comedic take on policing and endearing cast of characters (led by Oda Yuji) proved to be a hit with audiences, spawning three highly-rated special one-off episodes and a hit award-winning film. The series has since become a cultural icon, with the film's sequel still holding the record as the highest-grossing live-action Japanese film ever. Intricately plotted by writer Kimizuka Ryuichi and stylishly directed by Motohiro Katsuyuki, Odoru Daisousasen the Movie now arrives on Blu-ray! The Wangan Precinct thinks they already have plenty on their hands when they have to host the enormous investigation of the police vice-commissioner's kidnapping, but that's only the beginning. Over the course of three days, Aoshima (Oda Yuji) and his fellow cops will also have to take down a sick internet-based murderer, and a thief that can steal anywhere - including the police station. Known for eschewing the typical suit and tie in favor of jeans and an orange down jacket and impulsively purchasing infomercial gadgets, Kuryu's behavior often flummoxes his colleagues at a public prosecutor's office in Tokyo. However, his slacker appearance and attitude belie a brilliant investigative mind and compassionate heart, which help him crack one impossible case after another. Directed by Suzuki Masayuki and scripted by Fukuda Yasushi, both regulars of the series, the 2015 Hero feature film continues on from the 2014 television series. Besides Kimura Takuya, Kitagawa Keiko returns as his assistant, as do fellow prosecutors Sugimoto Tetta, Hamada Gaku and Yoshida Yo. Matsu Takako, who did not appear in the 2014 season, makes her return to the series after an eight-year absence. This time, Kuryu and his colleagues try to solve a case that is linked to a foreign embassy. However, their investigation is hampered by extraterritoriality. This edition includes a bonus disc.
