Nike Running shoes like the Nike Roshe feature the Nike Flyknit and Nike Lunarlon technology to help set your best lap time. Nike Sneakers or other Nike Shoes like the Nike Cortez, Nike Air Jordans, Nike Airforce 1, Nike Air Max, and the Nike Jordans can be worn with jeans for the perfect Nike Streetwear look. Nike also makes football and futsal shoes like the Nike Vapormax, and for a relaxing day at the beach, you can wear your Nike Slides. Very few branding logos can be recognised at first glance, but Nike’s “swoosh” logo that imitates a tick – a figurative symbol of “Just do it”, is one of them. You can definitely Just Do it too with Nike Men Shoes and Nike Women Shoes.
The Nike Swoosh
The famous swoosh logo is so strongly associated with Nike that today, you don’t have to see the word Nike to know that it is from the brand. As long as you see the swoosh logo, you know it is Nike.
The logo was designed by graphic designer Carolyn Davidson. At that time, she was still a graphic design student at Portland State University. Carolyn’s logo creation was recognised by Knight, who was teaching accounting at the university. After rejecting several designs, Knight settled for the swoosh design. Davidson was paid $35 for her services. Who would have thought that this $35 design would blow up to become one of the world’s most famous and recognised logos?
Nike SG - Just Do It
The slogan “Just do it” was coined by the founder of Wieden + Kennedy agency, Dan Wieden. As bleak as it may sound, he drew inspiration from Gary Gilmore’s last words before his execution. The “Just do it” campaign proved to be tremendously successful, allowing Nike to increase its share from a mere 18% to 48%. This campaign launched in 1988 was also selected as the top two taglines in the 20th century by the Age, calling it “universal and intensely personal”.
This slogan motivates and inspires, pushing people to be the best they can be. The campaign also featured famous athletes such as football stars Ronaldinho and Wayne Rooney, basketball stars Michael Jordan and Kobe Bryant as well as tennis players Andre Agassi and Rafael Nadal which further inspired people to aim high and “Just do it”. The campaign was so successful that it went out of range with media outlets which include merchandise, billboards, print media, and even graffiti art.
