LG G6: See More, Hold Less

06 February 2018 | Reymart Sarigumba

Another year, another flagship device from our favorite smartphone company – LG. It definitely doesn’t want to fall behind like it did last year with the G5. This year, the LG G6 is set to go head to head with its competitors by going back to the basics and focusing on what matters most to its users.

Key Features of the LG G6

One of the notable features of the LG G6 is its dual rear cameras with a wide-angle lens. Its camera has new tricks up its sleeve: users can switch from its 13MP dual-camera to a wide-angle camera, allowing them to capture more images in a single frame. The same thing goes for its 5MP front facing camera which also comes with a wide-angle lens, providing a new angle for better and more coverage for selfies.

LG G6’s screen is also a delightful surprise as it boasts a wider screen without having to expand its body. The streamlined unibody of the LG G6 is as sleek as it could get, but it sports a 5.7-inch screen, giving its users more things to see but less body to hold. Its screen to body ratio is 80% and an 18:9 display format. Basically, what you see on the front of the phone is 80% screen and 20% frame. Its 5.7 display boasts a QHD (Quad High Definition) display which is 4x the resolution of FullHD.

Last but not least, LG finally joined the water-resistant phone bandwagon. The LG G6 is IP-68 certified, allowing the phone to endure against dust and water at 1.5 meters for up to 30 mins. You can take the LG G6 with you anywhere, anytime!

Release Date and Pricing

The LG G6 is due for release around mid-April in the US and the rest of the world, while it has long been released in South Korea on March 10 of this year. It’s a flagship device that aims to outplay its competitors and rightfully so, it’s able to pull that off with its specs and features without having to raise its price tag as high as its competitors like the latest Galaxy S8 from Samsung.
