6 Classic Ubisoft Video Games in Singapore

As one of the gaming industry’s most prolific developers, Ubisoft has created top-notch games and classics, such as Rayman, Prince of Persia, and Assassin’s Creed. Their 30-year history speaks volumes about the dedication and hard work they put into their games. Here are 6 classic games that this French video game publisher has developed.

Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege

Released in 2015, Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege is a tactical shooter video game that is famous for its cooperative and action-packed gameplay. In various gameplay modes like bomb defusing and hostage rescuing, players take control of an attacker or defender. Although this video game doesn’t have a campaign, it features a series of first-person missions. The missions do not have an extensive narrative and focus on recruits undergoing training to prepare them for future battles. Aside from the riveting gameplay, other things that make this Ubisoft game stand out is its realistic graphics and cool elements such as not respawning while still in the game.

Prince of Persia: Warrior Within

This sequel to the renowned Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time is one of the most critically-acclaimed Ubisoft Singapore games. Like any other sequel titles, this game picks up where the previous installment ended but has new gameplay features. This time, the Prince can wield two weapons at a time and steal weapons from enemies which can even be thrown at them. Plus, the Prince has a range of combat moves which can be executed with more complexity this time than in the previous game.

Another thing that players love about this game is the darker tone of the game, as the Prince has the ability to slay his enemies with morbid finishing moves. Also, an addition to the Prince’s repertoire of combat abilities is the circular sand wave that knocks down and damages all enemies surrounding him. All in all, the Prince of Persia: Warrior Within has an impressive music, riveting story, and cool characters that will take players to an unforgettable ride.

Rayman 3: Hoodlum Havoc

Rayman’s third installment tells the story of how Rayman defeats Andre from taking over the world with his minions. Unlike in the previous installments, Rayman 3 incorporates a light-hearted narrative and offers a fresh new take on the series. Although it’s similar to the classic Ubisoft game, Rayman 2, in terms of gameplay, this time players can’t always utilize Rayman’s ability to hurl long-range punches as it is limited. Fortunately, Rayman can fire stunning mini-tornadoes and throw powerful heavy metal punches.

Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell Conviction

Another classic game that you can find on Ubisoft Singapore’s website is Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell Conviction, which is a 2010 espionage stealth video game. The game's plot is split into two portions. The first one is the game's single-player campaign that puts players in control of Sam Fisher; while the second portion is the "Prologue" that is accessed through the multiplayer co-op mode, putting two players in control of agents Archer and Kestrel.

In terms of gameplay, it has new gameplay features like the "Mark & Execute" that enables players to mark specific enemies or objects, and shoot them in a quick succession without manually targeting each one. Players can choose to focus on these targets so that they can distract an enemy by shooting out an object in its vicinity and then slay another enemy. Aside from that, the game also has the "Last Known Position" - a feature that allows players to break the line of sight of an alerted enemy. This creates a visual silhouette that allows players to flank enemies.

Far Cry 4

When this action-adventure game was first released on Ubisoft Singapore, it sold like pancakes, making it one of the best-selling franchises the company has developed. Far Cry 4 takes place in Kyrat, a fictional Himalayan country. As for the plot, it follows the story of Ajay Ghale, a young Kyrati-American, as he is caught in a civil war involving Kyrat's Royal Army. The army is controlled by a tyrannical king Pagan Min and a rebel movement called the Golden Path. In terms of gameplay, it focuses on combat and exploration in which players battle enemy soldiers and dangerous wildlife using a vast selection of weapons. The game also features many RPG (Role-Playing Games) elements such as a branching storyline. Moreover, the game includes a co-operative multiplayer mode, a map editor, and an asymmetrical competitive multiplayer mode.

Assassin’s Creed II

If there’s one classic Ubisoft game in Singapore that received critical acclaim, that would be the Assassin’s Creed II. Its PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 version gained high review scores on Metacritic, making it the highest-rated Ubisoft game ever produced. Set in a fictional history setting, Assassin's Creed II follows the age-old struggle between the Assassins and the Knights Templars; the former fights for peace with free will, while the latter desires peace through control.
